Dr Lynda Folan is one of Western Australia’s Leading Experts in Organisational Psychology and Organisational Development. With a highly successful track record of strategically developing and managing International Organisational Development teams and delivering successful cultural and strategic change in organisations across the globe she is a sought-after professional. With over 35 years of working with businesses, coupled with a strong academic background in the psychology of organisations Lynda brings a significant level of experience and skill to the work she delivers.
Lynda is leading the way with her developmental strategies and research in Leadership and Resilience. Her Doctoral thesis “Defining a Research Model of Leader Resilience and Evaluating the Dispositional Effect of Resilience on Transformational Leadership” which was published in 2019 is paving the way for a transformation in the way we develop our leaders and build resilience in our organisations. Lynda’s book “Leader Resilience – The New Frontier of Leadership” launched in October 2021 and is already having a significant impact in the business world.
Lynda’s life, career and studies have spanned four countries on three continents. She was born and brought up in Africa, then lived in Belgium before spending 18 years in the United Kingdom. During her time in the UK, she developed her career in the field of Human Resources, Leadership Development and Organisational Psychology and was invited to take up her first board-level position as Vice President of Human Resource for the Hard Rock Café at the age of 29.Lynda expanded her corporate experience to included international executive-level Human Resources positions with; The Number (International Telecoms Company), Arcadian International Hotel Group (A subsidiary of Wyndham International), Hasbro (The Toy Company) and Tesco Stores Ltd (British Retail group).
Following a highly successful career in the corporate world, Lynda then set up her own consultancy business. With her well-honed business acumen and in-depth knowledge of organisations and people, she became a highly sought-after Leadership and Organisational Development, specialist. Lynda then moved to Perth in 2007 and has further developed her consulting experience. She has worked with a large variety of organisations in both the public and the private sector.
Lynda is a Doctor of Organisational Psychology (Murdoch University), Registered as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She holds a Master of Science in Organisational Psychology from the University of London, a Post Graduate diploma in Consulting Psychology from Murdoch University, an Honors Degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of South Africa, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Natal (South Africa).
